AIKIDO

Welcome to Charlotte Aikikai!  We are a martial arts school dedicated to the practice of a traditional Japanese martial art called Aikido.  Our practice focuses on:

• Improving body toughness, flexibility and motor skills
• Stress management through healthy exercise
• Mental and physical discipline
• Self-defense tactics and strategies

Visitors are always welcome to watch or participate.  If you are planning to participate, please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing.

Location:  We are located at 3124 Eastway Drive,  Unit 530, Charlotte, NC,  28205 (map here).  We are sharing space with SipJin Taekwondo (look for the sign).

Class times are Monday and Wednesday at 7:30 PM and Saturday at 12:00 PM (aiki weapons).

Important COVID-19 Information:  Masks are no longer required (but still recommended) inside the dojo.

The Charlotte Aikikai is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people explore the art of Aikido.  Anyone over the age of 13 is welcome to join us regardless of race, gender, ethnic group, religion, or sexual orientation.

The Charlotte Aikikai is affiliated with the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba, under the direction of Master Instructor Mitsugi Saotome.  We welcome all students of Aikido, regardless of style or previous affiliation.
