    • Hi Zachary,

My apologies for the late reply. The website doesn’t notify us when someone leaves a comment so we don’t always pick up on questions when they come in.

To answer your question, we don’t offer Iaido classes per se. Our style of Aikido puts a premium on weapons work — especially the sword — but that’s always within the framework of Aikido itself. If you’re looking for real Iaido classes, I would start with the Charlotte Kendo Club (https://charlottekendo.com/). They would at least know who the local Iaido teachers are.

If you’d like to learn more about what we do, please feel free to stop the dojo and watch a class or two.

Best wishes and sincere apologies for not answering your question sooner.

      Charlie Huff
      Chief Instructor, Charlotte Aikikai
